Although we passed by many lighthouses on our trip, this was the only one we managed to see up-close.
I even got to go inside! The volunteer on duty was extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. I was very impressed.
There was a little hidden gem in the backyard as well, a beautifully kept garden full of flowers.
This lighthouse was surprisingly only used for its purpose from 1871-1874. The lighthouse is now used to aid the U.S Coast Guard.
